Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, & Ride

There is a  population of citizens that are concerned with our planets well being. There are many efforts being made today.. that... if everyone will participate... they will make a difference.

I think about.. not my day, but my children’s day, or my grandchildren’s day. I wonder what differences will be in their world... because of our lack of aid to mother earth. I feel that God has blessed us with a beautiful home that supplies our needs such as water, oxygen, and food. Consider also the emotional impact it has upon us. Our moods are clearly affected by rainy days, sunny days, moon light and sun light. It is a beautiful miraculous thing, right in front of us!

When I came upon this scene with the bike leaning up against the recycle bin, it made me smile. Knowing that we are doing things to preserve our beautiful gift as a community lets me know people care!

Party Day!!

So today we are celebrating my son coming into this world 14 years ago! oh yeah...and my husband!! lol...My hubby's birthday is actually tomorrow but we figured we would have a party for both guys...so...let the gaming commence! They are both gamers so it was a good idea and they are really having a great time. :)

Darkly Dramatic...

My son's friend is going "goth". So he dyed his hair black and has started wearing the leather bracelets and chains. He wanted some new photos to express himself for his social network site so we had some fun and put a few together. It amazes me how teens express themselves and go through these stages trying to find themselves. It really takes me back to when I was a teen and all the different things I went through trying to figure out who I was.

Playing In The Slush...

My daughter wanted to go out and play in the "snow" today, but I had to inform her it was just "slush"....lol. She still went out like a trooper and grabbed her sled and headed down the hill! Down, down, down she went, still able to sled!

Fire and Ice...

I just love, love, love the snow!! Being from the south we are not accustomed to this beautiful, white fluff from the sky! Though from spending our first winter here last year we also found out what an inconvenience it can be. Today, however, has been a great amount! Not to much and not to little...my kids may even be able to get a little sledding in in the morning and my hubby can sleep in!! I was really trying to capture something nice today and decided to try a little opposites attract! Here is what I came up with. I hope everyone enjoyed the snow day and stays safe and warm!!!

My Dear Sweet Husband...

My favorite color is pink. :) I am sure it will really show through by the end of this year :) My husband brought me home these beautiful pink roses last week. I was going to photograph them then, but then decided to wait a few days to allow them to wither. I really wanted to capture a different look here. Instead of the bright, perky floral photos I wanted to show something a little more withered. Not really sure why...lol...So, here are my takes. I wanted to try to capture something a little different.. I am uploading 2 different edits here. Oh yeah...btw...my algebra class is really getting me...but...I..have...a...97!!! at the time! WooHoo...I have always struggled with math so being able to really absorb this information and "learn" it, is a big deal for me!!

Apple For The Teacher!!!

Shiny Reflective Surfaces & Water...

I wanted to play around with water for a moment so I came up with this. Not to mention dont you just love my little flower scrubby in the background! I love flowers and have them everywhere!

Helping Hands...

I had the pleasure of meeting these three little beauties during our photo session! These three sisters were so much fun and they love helping their mom out at home!

A Childs Creative Tool

My daughter loves to paint! She is very creative and would rather write, read, or paint then most other things! These are her little paint brushes that she leaves on the kitchen counter ready for use!

A Couple Days Behind...

I have been so busy with school and photo editing that I have fallen a few days behind....I am going to get caught up today! So, lets start out by this little transitional story I did about my son. He is now 14! Ahhhh...I cant believe how quickly he has grown up on me...where have the years gone? I am so proud of him, he has really grown into a great young man!

My own personal American Girl doll!

My daughter is my mini me. She has so many of my traits and really reminds me of me when I was little. She is into the whole American Girl scene right now and we were taking pictures of them today and she came up with this crazy idea! My daughter is awesome!! (so is my own personal American Girl doll) LOL

Sweet Baby Smiles...

I did a photo session today for a sweet baby girl whose smile is infectious! Mom and I really had a great time capturing these sweet moments of baby Emma.

Running Away...

I wanted to do a series of photos that really told a story of childhood. I chose the theme "running away". I remember as a little girl I would "pretend" to run away and pack my suitcase and run to the backyard pretending that it was some far away land where I was a grown up princess. :) So, I took my daughter yesterday and tried to recreate in as few photos as possible this faint childhood memory of mine.

I figured I would update a photo of our newest family member, Sydney. We got her at the end of October when she was about 13 weeks old. She has really grown and fits in with the family perfectly!

First Day of Algebra

So I started back to school and am beginning algebra. They say I have learned all this before when I was in high school, however, I dont recall any of it! lol....Well had my pretest and lets just say my brain is feeling frazzled!

Pretty In Blue

I had a photo shoot today and we went down to the lake. I cant believe parts of it are still covered in snow! The session went well and we had a lot of fun!

Straight Ahead...

I took this at my hubby's work place today. He took us to see his office for the first time! It was a pretty neat place. It was nice to see his home away from home. :o)

I was trying to get some practice in today using window light but then I realized that it was not very bright outside...lol...so it did not help much!

I grabbed this while my daughter was brushing her hair. I love her hair~It is so long and shiny with natural highlights!

Busy Day...

Today seemed to be such a busy day! Ever have those days where it seems like you have been busy all day but did not really seem to accomplish anything? That was my day today....lol..

We had a girl scout meeting tonight so I took my camera and grabbed some shots of the girls for our troop blog site. Here is one that I really liked that did not show faces. :o)

First Day Back To School....

Our Christmas break is over and I started the children back to school yesterday. We jumped in with sort of a light day to allow them to get back into the swing of things and they did really well! Here is a moment of them both working hard and making mommy proud!

A Soft Glow...

Today I wanted to play with soft candle light. I have this nice little water fountain that has a faux candle on it. The piece has some nice textures on it and I thought I could get the light to reflect a soft gold glow.

Day 2, with a rainy day!

So today has been rainy and overcast all day. I figured it would be a good time to get some water droplet photos and give my daughter a chance to play in the rain! Here is what I came out with!
