The Lost Art of SideWalk Chalk!!
My daughter loves creating with sidewalk chalk! However, our driveway here is gravel so she has had this big bucket of chalk for quite some time. I figured she could "decorate" our walkway stones! They looked really cool when the girls were done!

The Moon and the Yew Tree....
I love the poetry of Sylvia Plath. Here is one of her pieces with a photo of the full moon off my front porch. :)
he Moon and the Yew tree
"This is the light of the mind, cold and planetary.
The trees of the mind are black. The light is blue.
The grasses unload their griefs at my feet as if I were God,
Prickling my ankles and murmuring of their humility.
Fumy spiritious mists inhabit this place
Separated from my house by a row of headstones.
I simply cannot see where there is to get to.
The moon is no door. It is a face in its own right,
White as a knuckle and terribly upset.
It drags the sea after it like a dark crime; it is quiet
With the O-gape of complete despair. I live here.
Twice on Sunday, the bells startle the sky -
Eight great tongues affirming the Resurrection.
At the end, they soberly bong out their names.
The yew tree points up. It has a Gothic shape.
The eyes lift after it and find the moon.
The moon is my mother. She is not sweet like Mary.
Her blue garments unloose small bats and owls.
How I would like to believe in tenderness -
The face of the effigy, gentled by candles,
Bending, on me in particular, its mild eyes.
I have fallen a long way. Clouds are flowering
Blue and mystical over the face of the stars.
Inside the church, the saints will be all blue,
Floating on their delicate feet over cold pews,
Their hands and faces stiff with holiness.
The moon sees nothing of this. She is bald and wild.
And the message of the yew tree is blackness - blackness and silence."

It's A BaG World!!!!
Staying in tune with things that make up my daughter's world...I figured I would do a little piece on her bags. She loves different bags...and if there is polka dots then all the better! I have captured a couple of her fav's that she totes around mostly!

Call In Sick Day...
I was awoken this morning around 2:00 a.m. to the shrieks of my little niece that she was having weird thoughts. She said that she felt like she wanted to shoot flying bunnies!!! I, of course, half asleep, tell her...ok...let me know how that works out for ya! Of course...as I am scampering back to my bed....I awaken....and come to my senses and realize something is wrong. I went back to the room and sure enough she was burning up! So...off to the kitchen for medicine, drink, and lots of lovings! We ended up sleeping on the couch until around 7 or so. Lo and behold...my 2 are sick! Ahhhhh...my son has a temp of 103 and I'm panicking at this point. First thing first...call the dr. Come to find out all three have the flu...at the same time...well...at least it is not staggered out! So...I thought this would be fitting for today and was even surprised I found time to snap and post :) I hope all out there has a great week and stays bug free!

First Flight...
Today my 8 year-old niece flew in from Michigan. This was her first flight... and...she flew...solo! Let me just say that Delta really was great and took wonderful care of her! Her father..(my brother)...has chronic leukemia and her mother passed in September '09. This little girl has really been exposed to some things that even us as adults has not.. He has been such a trooper since he was diagnosed in August of 2009...and...so has SHE!!! She has come down here for a visit and let me tell you...WE...are so HAPPY...to see her! I was shedding tears as she was walking down the walk way off the plane. Hannah and Charlotte are like 2 peas in a pod, even though...Hannah tries...to play mommy. :)

Faded Memories...
Today was soooo pretty outside that I just had to get...out...there! So, I thought some baby clothes of Ms. Hannah would be fitting since this month is dedicated to her. This was her sleeper that she came home in, her little onsie, preemie sized gown, (which swallowed her whole :)), and ruffled bum tights! Of course I kept all her firsts... but... these are the extra... special... ones. When Hannah came into our lives..that miraculous day.. she was itty bitty. She weighed 4lbs 3 oz. and was 14 inches long. She was so beautiful with little eyes full of wonderment...and...love.

Diva Pink...Zebras...& American Girls...Oh My!!
My daughter's birthday party is Friday! She will turn 10 on Saturday...double digits! I can not believe my children are growing so quickly...and I am with them everyday...all day...and yet...I wake up...and they are still bigger and stronger and smarter. I love my children so much and I am so proud of them. I am going to commit to photographing "Hannah" during the this month. I want to capture the little details that make her up as well as her favorite things and her ideas at this stage in her life.
So, right now we are preparing for her party...her "double digit" party...lol...the theme is going to be diva pink and zebra with a tinker-belle cake...lol...that is my daughter!
She made her goodie bags yesterday and they are sitting on her little table in the class room and I thought I would grab a shot of them. She worked diligently on them and she is proud of her work!
