Fluvanna Fun Days!

July 4th burgers and dogs!!
When I think about July 4th I think about grill outs, family, swimming, and freedom to love and enjoy! July 4th is all about freedom. Freedom to worship, speak, and listen. Our men and women of the military have fought for our freedom and for that I am grateful. Jesus shed His blood for our eternal freedom and for that I am most humbly grateful!
Baby...its FireWorks!!!
So, I attempted to take photos of our wonderful fireworks display here at the lake this year! I feel pretty good about the results!

My Red, White, and Blue girls!! Happy 4th of July!!!
We are so enjoying this fourth of July weekend! I hope everyone has a safe and happy fourth!! Also, I am reminding my children that we are remembering all the people that have fought for our freedom and what it means to be an American. Also, not to forget during this festive time that Jesus paid the ultimate blood sacrifice for OUR freedom!!

Gods little gifts!
Have you ever noticed that beauty can be hidden in the smallest places! I found these flowers to not only bring a smile to my face but also to remind me of Gods little gifts all around us and how much he loves us!

OverGrown...
I love finding places that are all around us but always over looked. This was one of those places. It is around the corner where some apartments are and this plot of land as never developed so it sits vacant and over grown...which I love!

Red, White, and Bold
I am passionate about America and what we stand for! I know that many disagree but my blood will always run red, white, and blue! I believe that God has greater powers than our own and I am grateful for that! I am so thankful for our service men and women who fight for me and my families freedom daily!
Peaceful Morning at Lake Monticello

Back...Again....
So, I knew that keeping up this challenge was going to be...well...a challenge! Between my classes, baseball, girl scouts, and now summer...my challenge has sort of fallen way side. :( So...my new goal for the last six months is to at least upload once a week. Maybe that is more realistic for me...lol...I hope! So...here is my new "first" upload.
I took this image during a photo session with this sweet little girl last week while and just had to share it! I processed it with a great action from FloraBella..which I absolutely love!

Just a look...of....Surprise!!!
There is nothing cuter than the expressions of babies. They are genuine and are always unexpected! This one I captured of baby Emma in a true state of surprise and wonderment!
This photo is for the Paper Mama photo challenge! This is the first photo challenge I have entered and thought it would be fun and another great way to challenge myself, learn new techniques, and meet new people!

The Lost Art of SideWalk Chalk!!
My daughter loves creating with sidewalk chalk! However, our driveway here is gravel so she has had this big bucket of chalk for quite some time. I figured she could "decorate" our walkway stones! They looked really cool when the girls were done!

The Moon and the Yew Tree....
I love the poetry of Sylvia Plath. Here is one of her pieces with a photo of the full moon off my front porch. :)
he Moon and the Yew tree
"This is the light of the mind, cold and planetary.
The trees of the mind are black. The light is blue.
The grasses unload their griefs at my feet as if I were God,
Prickling my ankles and murmuring of their humility.
Fumy spiritious mists inhabit this place
Separated from my house by a row of headstones.
I simply cannot see where there is to get to.
The moon is no door. It is a face in its own right,
White as a knuckle and terribly upset.
It drags the sea after it like a dark crime; it is quiet
With the O-gape of complete despair. I live here.
Twice on Sunday, the bells startle the sky -
Eight great tongues affirming the Resurrection.
At the end, they soberly bong out their names.
The yew tree points up. It has a Gothic shape.
The eyes lift after it and find the moon.
The moon is my mother. She is not sweet like Mary.
Her blue garments unloose small bats and owls.
How I would like to believe in tenderness -
The face of the effigy, gentled by candles,
Bending, on me in particular, its mild eyes.
I have fallen a long way. Clouds are flowering
Blue and mystical over the face of the stars.
Inside the church, the saints will be all blue,
Floating on their delicate feet over cold pews,
Their hands and faces stiff with holiness.
The moon sees nothing of this. She is bald and wild.
And the message of the yew tree is blackness - blackness and silence."
